It had plenty of corporate people talking about how they use social media and how it has actually affected their business. From service with their clients to how they dispel rumors from their competitors. It was a great event, the next few are coming up shortly. Make sure you register as space is limited. Not sure what a Twebinar is, here you go.

A twebinar is a webinar and Twitter mash-up where conversations take place in real-time before, during and after the webinar, on Twitter.

How Does a Twebinar Work?

It’s easy. Just follow the steps below:

Sign-up for a webinar on a topic that interests you.

On the day of the webinar, watch the presentation from your computer and receive information visually and verbally from the presenter(s).

During the webinar, a parallel conversation takes place as participants comment, ask questions, and/or discuss the webinar series on Twitter. Follow the webinar participants on Twitter and join the conversation.

Gather ideas and/or resources from a community of people with interests that are similar to yours.

The result? A twebinar.

This is definitely a must attend event! Don’t miss it next time.

It went down unexpectedly and he was using his Tumblr account until his site got up. It was a long 8 days but now it is up and running and I’m definitely happy to see Chris back online. He mentioned how many people came to his aid and how many people contacted him letting him know that help was available if needed. It is great to see a community interact and step up and take action, isn’t this what communities are all about? If anything, you can tell the Chris has built his community right and with strength because when something happened to him his community wanted to help him. How many other communities are that strong regardless of numbers? Is it about numbers or about community commitment or engagement? I believe Chris has built a community only some can attain and many aspire to. Chris’ commitment to his community is remarkable and with the utmost authenticity possible.

How can we emulate such a strong community to create our own?

How can they intersect?

Posted in Article

I was reading one Chris Brogan‘s most recent posts about “Keeping the Blogging Fires Burning” and it was just at the right time. I have been experiencing some success with my blog lately but as usual I get busy and end up letting it go and putting it to the side. Then I usually end up avoiding it because I get into a sort of writers block, it was his post that reminded me one of the most important aspects of writing. Reading.

Reading helps you write, helps you push forward when your stuck. I have been avoiding reading one of my books I started because simply I was too busy but I finally decided to sit down and just read and before I knew it I finished the last 100 pages and was finished with the book. And it sure put a fire in me, I started writing ideas and topics and couldn’t wait to write again.

It’s funny how sometimes we fall so quickly in and out of love with something, especially writing sometimes and even when you haven’t embraced for some time it invites you back openly.

Here’s an exceprt of Chris’ post:

“Read constantly. I blaze through over 1000 blog posts a day. I don’t read them all, but I process about 1000. How? Quickly. I skim through, find points that interest me, and then REALLY read the ones that matter to me…..The point is, the more I read, the more I’m exposed to good ideas. Ditto with podcasts…..I’m stumped from time to time on what to write next, and then, at other times, I can churn out 100 blog topics for a single post (most comments and trackbacks to date on that post, by the way). But having a text file I can open and peruse gives me plenty of material to choose from.”

If you don’t follow Chris on his blog or Twitter you should.
