Life Defined
The following is a journal entry written as advice, I wrote this a while ago, found it interesting. Hopefully someone else finds it useful.
Life will inevitably disappoint and fail you. Your friends will let you down, they will only seek your favor when in need of your goodwill. Those whom you confide in will breach your secrecy to those who were never intended to receive it. Your faith in humanity may seem depleted but you must find hope. A faith in yourself, a solidarity in your ability, a resounding call of truth to who you are and who you can be.
Life will never say sorry for any indiscretion it might have served you unwillingly; stop looking for it. Find a hope that doesn’t let go of truth. There is no quick fix or silver lining, only hard work. If you don’t find happiness in what you do you will inevitably find desolation. To think that working is always fun is naive, anything worth having will be difficult to attain but there is joy in the process and in the end product.
Life will always supply you with endless opportunities to better yourself, only you stand in the way of change. Change will be difficult because at our core as humans we are afraid we will lose ourselves if we change. We are not one dimensional or simple, don’t be afraid. Instead we are complex and change only refines or degrades who we truly are.
Life will give you the choice to be fulfilled or not. While the choice may seem obvious everything around us will either clarify or muddy our options. Don’t spend your life toiling toward futility, it will seem utilitarian but it’s nothing more than a trick to distract you from your true potential.
Life will be unpredictable, enjoy that aspect because life can get mundane allowing days to blur together wasting your life. Find joy where least expected, it’ll change your life.
Lastly, life is life, it’s worth living to the fullest, it’s arduous to understand but easy to enjoy. Have fun.
