@patmcgraw Not knowing is definitely the worst part of it. I always try to reach out at a human level first, takes people by surprise. I'm not calling for business, just checking in with the person, we'll talk business later when their comfortable talking business. The truth is business and personal are so intertwined in our lives that it is more natural to sway back and forth between them rather than just getting down to business.

Justin,

Great series...for me, the concern has always been how best to maintain the relationship. What needs to be done to take the relationship from [ex] the first meeting to whatever the next level might be.

How often should I reach out? What's appropriate to share? How can I add value and build credibility?

Damn, it's like dating all over again and to be really honest I don't miss dating!!

The uncertainty. The need to be 'loved' and 'accepted'. The self-doubt ("Will he/she like this or not?")

It's trial and error and I hate the error part. :)
