American Idol Drama: We Are Fair! Right?

Mar. 12th | Posted by 1 comments

I don’t normally like to talk about American Idol but after so much debate about if the voting results are fair it is completely and utterly ridiculous that they ask the contestants if they feel it’s fair. I believe the general consensus comes as if you have to ask and make a point about if you are fair then you probably are not. I scoured the American Idol site for stats of how many people voted and for who they voted for and how many people watched and how many people logged onto the site.

Nothing.

I think that all these numbers should be transparent to show everyone that it is not rigged. It would be obvious to do such a thing. We ask this of every other contest or voting system but with Idol we don’t see anything, we are just expected to believe what they say.

So I guess the real question is, is the most talented person winning or are they just the most marketable person?

If you have numbers, graphs or stats that would help prove the voting system is fair or unfair please comment.

I agree with you. I think we should have access to the numbers. However I don’t think there is a lot of rigging because in my opinion the most marketable person doesn’t always win. But that doesn’t mean that there is no tampering involved.
